There is a Jade Screen Pavilion perched high amongst the clouds, which is reputed as an "imperial palace in heaven" in the Jade Screen Scenic Area giving breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.

Lotus Peak

With a height of over 1,873 meters, lotus Peak is the highest peak on Huangshan Mountain. Its shape resembles a lotus blossom, giving the peak its name. The most famous resident on Lotus Peak is the Greeting Pine, an ancient pine that is very famous throughout China and can be seen in many business logos.

West Sea Scenic Area

West Sea Scenic Area is the best place for viewing the sea of clouds and the sunset on Huangshan Mountain. Here, the beautiful peaks and ancient pines leave visitors awe-struck.

White Cloud Scenic Area

In the White Cloud Scenic Area, the pines, rocks, ridges, and peaks are more colorful and wonderful than those of the other zones. The gullies and valleys are deep and tranquil and the glow of sunset upon this area is beyond description.

Huangshan Mountain's Sea of Clouds

Because of Huangshan's high elevations, the peaks are often higher than the clouds giving visitors the unique chance to look down at the clouds. The peaks jutting up through the clouds look like islands on the sea, giving this phenomenon its name.
